Welcome to the City of Burnet Recreation Department! Our facilities at Galloway Hammond Recreation Center (GHRC) make it possible for us to have a wide variety of leagues, tournaments, camps and events for Burnet and surrounding communities. Youth and adult sports offered include softball, baseball, basketball, volleyball, flag football and more.

The recreation department also has summer camp for the young ones that is a blast and allows the kids to just be kids. Come on and check out our lineup of sports and events we have going on here! We look forward to getting you signed up for the activity you would be the most suited to be a part of. Hope to see you around!

Hill Country Youth Basketball League

Not Little Dribblers! This youth league will have more opportunity for practices with two full months before games begin. It also includes a pre-season Saturday to get ready for the season games.

Registration is from August 2 to November 13

Starts: Tuesday Sept. 21st Ending: Thursday, November 4th

$45.00 a player

Must be between 6-12 years old

ADULT SOFTBALL

Registration Information
• Signup Dates: Now till September 9th by 5:30PM!
• Turn in registration before or at coaches meeting. NO late registration.
• Co-rec: ASA Rules, Minimum 5 girls must be on the field.
• Entry Fee: $335 Per Team (With 12 players, is $28 per person).
• Price includes umpire fee, 1 men/1womens ball & forfeit fee
• NO Refunds once money is turned in, NO partial payments
• Refer to the back of page for registration

General League Information
• Coaches Meeting!!! Thursday September 9th at 5:30PM at GHRC
• First Game, Monday September 13th starting at 6:30PM
• League is six weeks with a minimum 8 games (based on final number)
• Winning Teams will receive championship t-shirt and bragging rights
• Tournament will be a one week Single Elimination Bracket!
• Season Tourney held on Monday, after last regular season game.
• Certified ASA Umpires will be calling all the games played.
• Eligible for TAAF Regional and State Tournaments

Single Elimination Tourney: Follows Reg. Season

Top 6 teams make the playoffs!

Coaches Meeting:

Thursday, September 16 @ 6:00 PM at GHRC.

Game Times:

Tuesday/Thursday Nights from 6:00pm-10:00pm

Registration Fee:

$280.00 per team, with up to 16 players per team

Registration Deadline:

Tuesday, September 16, 6 PM (At Coaches Meeting)

No LATE REGISTRATIONS

Galloway is always looking for great coaches who want to volunteer their time to coach in any of our youth leagues. It is a truly rewarding experience that allows coaches to demonstrate their knowledge and teach valuable skills. We put the kids first and will help you succeed and have a great time in your experience. Whether a first time or a veteran coach, come be apart of the fun. Thanks to all of our coaches!

GHRC offers Tae Kwon Do to youth and adults. Classes meet Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings, at only $50 per month. All levels are welcome. Participation has been growing, and with Instructor Dennis Porter (pictured below) leading the way, it has been a great success. Get signed up today!

Kevin Eldridge of 4 the Chains Disc Golf Association is the guy to speak to if you are interested. Our course and the new course being built in Burnet offer disc golf players a chance to show their stuff. For more information regarding disc golf email Kevin at
