Welcome to the City of Burnet Recreation Department! Our facilities at Galloway Hammond Recreation Center (GHRC) make it possible for us to have a wide variety of leagues, tournaments, camps and events for Burnet and surrounding communities. Youth and adult sports offered include softball, baseball, basketball, volleyball, flag football and more.

The recreation department also has summer camp for the young ones that is a blast and allows the kids to just be kids. Come on and check out our lineup of sports and events we have going on here! We look forward to getting you signed up for the activity you would be the most suited to be a part of. Hope to see you around!

Summer Camp at the Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center in Burnet, TX, runs weekdays
from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. from June 10 - Aug. 23 and is open to boys and girls 5-12 years of age.

Cost is $90 per child per week. A $15 per child per week deposit is required at the time of registration.
Financial assistance is available through the Y for those who qualify. Of note, Swim Lessons require an
additional fee of $30 per child per week which is nonrefundable and must be paid in full at registration.
l Registration forms and payment will be accepted at the Galloway-Hammond Recreation Center, which is
located at 1601 South Water Street in Burnet, Texas (512-756-6180).

Home School Program

Home School P.E. Program

Everyone is welcome; sign up the first day you come.

$3 per child per visit or $2 per child per visit

if paying for the month in advance.

Want to host a tournament?

If you are interested in hosting a tournament for basketball, baseball, softball or football let us know. We have long list of tournaments for all ages that take place at the facility. If you are interested, please contact our Recreation Department about setting up a time and date!

ADULT VOLLEYBALL!!!

Pickup games take place on Monday Nights and Wednesday afternoons.

This is a great time for adults to have fun yet get that competitive edge.

Monday nights 6:30 pm warm ups and 7 pm game

Wednesday afternoons at 1:30 pm

Interested in becoming a coach?

Galloway Hammond is always looking for great coaches who want to volunteer their time to coach in any of our youth leagues. It is a truly rewarding experience that allows coaches to demonstrate their knowledge and teach valuable skills. We put the kids first and will help you succeed and have a great time in your experience. Whether a first time or a veteran coach, come be apart of the fun. Thanks to all of our coaches!

GHRC offers Tae Kwon Do to youth and adults. Classes meet Monday and Wednesday (Beginning Level) 4:30pm-5:30pm (Advanced Group) 6:30pm-7:30pm at only $50 per month. All levels are welcome. DISC GOLF???

Kevin Eldridge of 4 the Chains Disc Golf Association is the guy to speak to if you are interested. Our course and the new course being built in Burnet offer disc golf players a chance to show their stuff. For more information regarding disc golf e-mail Kevin at
